Life Drawing with Leslie Barlow
Thursday March 5, 6pm
This winter through May, try your hand at life drawing in front of a live nude model. All levels are welcome at these monthly, self-directed workshops guided by artist and educator Leslie Barlow. We provide the materials; you provide the creative flow. Please arrive promptly at 6 pm.
Darin Rinne, co-owner of Wet Paint, will be on hand before the workshop to give demonstrations of art materials and help you pick out your supplies.
Leslie Barlow is a Minneapolis-based visual artist. Barlow has exhibited locally and nationally, and recently she has presented solo exhibitions at Public Functionary (Minneapolis) and the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery at St. Catherine’s University (Saint Paul). In addition to her studio practice, she also teaches at the University of Minnesota, Metro State University, and Juxtaposition Arts, serves on Made Here’s artist advisory panel, and helps run the newly founded organization MidWest Mixed. She received her BFA in studio art from the University of Wisconsin–Stout (2011) and her MFA with an emphasis in drawing and painting from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (2016).
Wet Paint is an influential, independent art supply store located in Saint Paul. Offering over 40,000 different items, it is known for its knowledgeable & friendly staff.

Mystery Celebrity Tours
Thursday, March 19, 6pm
On select Thursdays this winter and spring, a surprise local celebrity will guide you through the Walker galleries. Could it be your favorite chef? Maybe your favorite DJ? Is it your mom? Come and find out.
Drawing Inferences: The Politics of Looking at Figures
Thursday, March 26, 6:30pm
How are images consumed? What do they tell us about ourselves? Join Gretchen Gasterland-Gustafsson for an ambulatory and participatory lecture in the exhibition The Expressionist Figure. The tour will examine ways that artists’ depictions of their subjects influence interpretation as well as the relationship between the collection and its display.
